Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 VGA light solid. Help :(

Hi there,
I've returned to the world of PC building and have hit a snag! :D I hope you can help me.

Specs -
Asus Sabertooth 990FX R2.0
AMD FX8350 cpu
Arctic Cooler 13
16 gig of Ram (4 x 4Gig Crucial Ballistix)
Sandisk SSD
2 x 1TB HDD
MSI Radeon R9 270 Gaming (2gb)
Zalman ZM550-xg PSU
All in a Coolermaster K350.

The only thing is that I'm not getting to POST.
The CPU light is fine, as is the RAM.
The VGA led goes solid red.

The card is being powered and run from the top PCIx slot (I've also tried the next one down)

Kinda stuck - can anybody help?
I don't have any other machines to check anything on, nor other spares

Good morning,

Many thanks for all the info to try.
I've gone through the really helpful link provided, and pulled the system to pieces and built up bit by bit.

Needless to say without any ram, the ram led came on (good). Stuck in a 4 gig stick (in the right socket) - light gone.

reset the cmos.

Still no POST beep. I've got 2 beepers, so I tried them both. Still no beeps.

VGA led remains on with or without the card.

The last 4 digits are - 2103

I'm leaning towards a borked motherboard :( ....... can't check the gfx card as I've got nothing to try it against.


Any other suggestions?

Hi All,
Thought I'd update you - turns out the new graphics card was DOA.

Stuck in a different card, and it's all working. Now got the fun of returning it etc, but at least the machine is up and running and all installed.
