hi everyone i am trying to buy a new computer i already have some parts but i am kinda hesitant on which intel processor i should go with my budget is big so i can go with either the intel lga 1150 which is basically going to be 4790k and asus z97 maximus vii motherboard or should i go with the 2011 v3 socket and the newest motherboard extreme 5 i just want someone to tell me if there is so much difference in the performance between the two generation or they are the same and i should just buy the 4790k as for usage i am going to be using it basically for gaming and editing

Solution
For gaming, the socket 1150 is enough. For editing, an i7 4790k is still good but if you want slightly faster performance and multitasking, socket 2011v3 can be considered but not necessary.
I honestly believe that the socket 2011 CPU's and motherboard are not worth the additional cost. They are significantly more expensive and would only offer a modest gain in performance. (So modest in fact, it may not be noticeable at all.)

If I was to upgrade and I was in your shoes knowing what I know. I'd go with the 1150 socket.
