Can I use a laptop SSD in a desktop PC

I have an SSD and HDD in my PC already but I would like to add my SSD with all of its current data to my PC. Is it possible?

Whatever 'data' (doc/music/video/etc) you want off that laptop drive, copy onto a different drive.
The applications on it can't be used from there.
Wipe and use it how you wish.

I have the OS on the SSD in the PC. The laptop SSD has an OS on it too, but I wanted to delete it. Which is my second question.
