Is there a way to add a desktop icon to one of windows 8.1 metro apps??

Hi!, I usually only use the Windows 8.1 desktop, but I still like and use some Windows 8 apps like mail, weather, food, etc. But I couldn´t find a way to créate a shortcut or icon to open these apps from the desktop. It will only allow to put an App icon to the taskbar. Is ther a way or trick to add an icon in the win. desktop of these apps??, Thank you!!

Yes, right click on the app and you should see a blue tick on the right hand side. Then choose pin to taksbar.

I know that, The problema is that I don´t want to be filling out the taskbar with too many fixed icons. I wanted to add an icon to the main desktop screen but it seems it´s not posible, thanks anyway
