I recently built a computer and I used a hard drive I had from the previous pc.
It is giving me very slow startup times and it is very slow to respond after waking up from sleep.

I decided I wanted an ssd to boost my pc's performance, but I don't want to spend $200 on one, so I'm choosing to buy a 256gb mx100 ssd and installing it along with my current hard drive for the storage.

Once I install the ssd and windows on it, how do I go about putting the hard drive back in?

I heard its bad to have windows installed on both drives, so how do I remove windows from my hard drive? I do not care for any of the data I have on my hard drive so erasing the whole thing is fine with me, I just would like to know how, if I already have an ssd installed.

Thanks

Once everything is running on the SSD, connect the HDD.
Disk Management, and delete all partitions.
Format the single unallocated space.
Use the drive as you see fit.

That's easy... when you are ready to install... Boot up from the Windows DVD... and make your way down to the Advanced Options... you should see both the SSD and older hard drive... just DELETE the partition that's on your old hard drive.. then create a new one and then format it... that's you are done.

I would also highly recommend that you stop with the install... exit out and shut down your computer... then UNPLUG your old hard drive so windows does NOT install the bootloader onto the old hard drive... it will do that sometimes...if it detects multiple drives on your computer...

Then just proceeded with the install and after that's done... plug the drive back in... you'll have Windows on your new SSD and your old one will be pre-formatted and empty.
