Hey everyone,
So I have an Alienware X51, and it has a stock motherboard which features a 55 pin set for the CPU.
I'm looking to create a new machine but was considering carrying over my CPU to the new motherboard. Problem is I would need to get an older motherboard to support the Intel i7 2600 3.4 CPU, or alternatively I can simply buy a new CPU and motherboard for this system instead.
Should I dish out the extra 400 to 500 for a new motherboard and CPU? Or save 400 and buy an older motherboard and continue to use the already decent CPU?
Thanks!
