installing a r7 250x i have a 500 watt psu

i have a geforce gt 600 series i am replaceing it with a xfx r7 250 x
i took the old one out put the new1 in and nothing i got a 500 psu is that enough power?

Did you connect the 6 pin PCI power connector to the card? Does you PSU even have one? What is the brand and model number of your power supply? Should be on the PSU itself.

How do you know that? If it's a cheap OEM unit, that simply lists 500w but in reality can't provide 250w, or doesn't even have the necessary 6 pin PCI cable, then it's NOT suitable.

cant get to the numbers on the psu but has 2 6 pin connectors
and yes i connected it
