Router Problem
its TP-Link TL-WR740N. the WiFi :
1. it keeps losing connection to my laptop/phones. I've switched to a new one(same type) but the same problem still occurs
2. If i disconnect my phone's WiFi and tried to reconnect it to the WiFi again, it wouldn't connect to the WiFi unless i restarted the router.

I've clone mac address and changed any automatic option on the WiFi menu.

Any suggestion? its annoying to keep restarting the router to get the WiFi connection back.

P.S. Ethernet cable still gives internet access when WiFi isn't giving any internet access.

Yes it's purely a wifi issue with the router. If it's any consolation, all the mid-priced wifi routers do it after a while, though some brands are worse than others. My latest Netgear has (fingers crossed) been free of that problem so far (4 years old) so it looks like I got one of the better ones.

Bottom line is if restarting the router fixes it for a while, then it's a obviously a weakness of the router, nothing else. Only advice I can offer is to change to a different brand of router (mid-priced Netgear, or premium-priced (but highly praised) Billion brand.

My next wifi router will be a Billion model if I can sneak it past my wife!

I got a tp link and its hit and miss with it ?? some days it seems to do just fine no issues at all and good speeds and then some days its like a hunk of junk ???

I don't know if its a windows thing a tp linke thing or service provider thing or a bird landed on a limb on a tree and blocks/disrupts the signal ???

sad part is where I live theres no hard wire service above 56k [thanks AT&T] so I just live with it

Just confirms what I said earlier. Thanks for responding, at least the OP will know I'm not pulling his chain or talking BS.
I don't think most of the reviews on TP-Link stuff on Amazon are too hot either if you care to look. I've never used the brand but my comments apply equally to all routers in that price range. Built down to a price - - so poor to average durability.

so far it seems just a way of life with wireless ?? if he reads reviews like at new egg its the #1 complaint the only reason I put up with it is due to theres nothing here hardwired over 56k

here in the usof a the worlds richest most powerfull nation and folks that live in it still got internet service from back in the 80's I mean its 2015 and still 56k dial up is the best they can do for me ??

funny all this fair internet bill and gov money and what have you must only be for folks in a big city or well to do places [my tax dollars working hard for me right ??] eaven with wireless I don't even get 4g it still the old first gen stuff and still got to pay the same bill as some one who is getting 4g ..

I'm so proud to be an American where we got it sooo good
