Hi,

So I got two of the same graphics cards and until today I was running a two monitor set up, but now I wanted to expand it to three, which is my big TV. I used the big TV previously till I got a desk and could use my monitors again.

I also got a new, longer cable as the TV is now further away.

Before anyone asks, it is not a hardware issue with the cables, or the TV as when I plug this longer cable into the TV and my main HDMI port on my first graphics card it works perfectly, however when I plug it into the second HDMI port on my second graphics card nothing happens. It doesn't detect it at all.

Any ideas how to make it work?

Currently running 2 Radeon R9 290Xs

Solution
Are the cards crossfired. Only one card works in a crossfire aetup. For outputs. You need to use outputs from one card. If need be you'll need a diaplayport to HDMI adapter.

Not currently at home, but yes they are cross fired, so thatms probably the issue. I'll try it when I get back.

Also, now i have another question. Does the crossfire thing actually help or nah?

Crossfire when gaming, with give, depending on the game, almost double the performance. Some games scale less and don't take good advatange of it, but some games do.
