Hi everyone.
My brother and I have the same problem, but our father do not.
Somehow our computers are using alot of RAM, but we don't know why.
In the start I thought it was a internet glitch but since our father is not having RAM issues.
I really don't have that much knowledge about RAM.

Could you guys have any ideas?

That number for hardware reserved is very high. I would expect that to be a few hundred megabytes at the most. That is usually a sign of a slightly faulty stick of RAM.

What programs are you running to get it to 11GB of use? Just chatting here and having the activity monitor running should be using less than 5GB of RAM. Have you noticed any processes that are unfamiliar to you using a lot of RAM?

What does it say for hard faults/hardware reserved? How many Megabytes is that taking up?

I often use up 4GB of RAM with Windows 8 without running many applications.

Apologies for my dumb questions, but I do not speak your language so I have to ask simple questions.

How much RAM is being used and how much RAM do you have in your system? 10GB out of 12GB?

Maybe. This is where it gets fiddly. The only way I know of to test if a RAM stick is faulty is to remove the second RAM chip and test each stick on its own in the first RAM slot. If one of the sticks is showing a much higher number for hardware reserved it is faulty and you should be able to get a replacement sent to you.
