Hi everyone please let me explain my situation here. i built my own rig very recently with nvidia graphic card and i have set up windows 8 on to my computer and when i click on to the screen resolution from the start i see two screen display settings when you choose one of them it is the regular desktop mode where you see all the icons on the screen in another screen display mode all you see is just the start icon in the task bar and nothing else and i thought we should use that screen when i want to play a game using the nvidia gpu so only while gaming i had to chose the resolution this was my assumption so i opted to choose the other screen to display and i could not do anything since then the cursor is working fine i am able to right click and whenever i tried to open any of the settings it goes into minimized mode and i wasnt able to do anything else. please help what should i do now? and if we have graphic card installed do we ought to have two screen displays in the screen resolution? if not how to get rid of the 2nd display screen? i hope i explained it well enough about my problem...expecting your expertise.

Regards - Amar

Other things you can try are the windows icon on your keyboard to shift you to desktop or moving your mouse in to the different corners of the screen where some Windows 8 options are kept. I'm sending you a few ideas as it is hard to tell what exactly is your problem.

Try moving around with the f4 key to get back to a proper working display. Then right click your desktop, select screen resolution and click detect. Under display if you have an intel CPU choose available display output intel graphics. That should fix your problems.

Sorry I could have explained that better. When you pressed f4 did an option come up for project?
There should be four options: pc screen, duplicate, extend, and second screen only. Pressing f4 opens up the menu and every press after that moves you to another option you can choose with enter.

If the settings to display correctly are setup you should be able to choose them that way.

This is the option that should fix your problem:
"right click your desktop, select screen resolution and click detect. Under display if you have an intel CPU choose available display output intel graphics. That should fix your problems. " That should do it.
