First time buying PC, I currently have a laptop and am looking to upgrade, I want to start gaming with most new titles like GTA V when i's out and some indie games etc on high settings, what FPS would this PC get on most newish games, Battlefield 4, GTA V, Crysis 3 and old ones like Minecraft, The Forest etc

I don't know if this is overkill or this is just what I need, help would be appreciated! My budget is about £1,000

You should use 2x4gb RAM to take advantage of the dual channel capabilities instead of 1x8gb.

If the main purpose is gaming I would go for a H97 board and a non K processor. With the money saved go for a 970 gpu, this gpu with any normal i5 will give much better gaming performance.

bump that psu to 750, add a 100.00 dollars more and get the I7 4790 k and you'll get 8 hyperthreads. Also win. 8 ? i believe for what you are doing you may want win 7 pro . And if you are serious about gaming and typing speed, please look at mechanical keyboards. they last longer and are much better for gaming. But , incase you are not sure don't be lazy. Do a little leg work and look at a few youtube vids to decide for yourself.

If you're planning on adding more RAM in the future don't go for two 4gb sticks! Waste of money!!! And also, k processors are better cuz you can squeeze a higher clock speed out of them. Your GPU is good enough for the rest of the build, BUT SERIOUSLY CONSIDER GETTING A BETTER ONE IF YOUR BUDGET IS THIS BIG. Look at your other components and ask yourself I'd you need to buy them, or if there's something cheaper for the same price, or if a different merchant sells it cheaper. Use extra money to get the best GPU possible within you budget. Best of luck! Hope this helps.
