Hi everyone,
I want to overclock my cpu. I tried many things but couldn't make it stable at 3.0ghz. What would be best adjustments for this mobo?
any help would be appreciated

Computer Specs:
OS: Win7 64Bit
CPU: Q6600 (rev. G0)
CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 212 evo
Mobo: Gigabyte P35-DS3R (rev. 02 - version f13)
GPU: Sapphire hd6850
RAM: 3x 2GB Corsair 800mhz 5-5-5-18 (VS2GB800D2-G)
PSU: 600W Corsair cx600m

Solution
I have a computer w/ a Q6600 & a different Gigabyte board running at 3.2 & stock voltage, no problem. What you might want to try is 1st pull out 1 stick of memory. Many boards back then needed a higher voltage when running more than 2 sticks of memory. Just as a test. If this works you would need to raise the voltage slightly to put the 3rd stick back.

hi again,

I pulled 1 stick out as you suggested.
With 8x400mhz
2.0 ram multiplier
and voltage settings on auto, it works stable according to 10 mins of prime95 test.

with these settings aida64 says:
vcore: 1.45
dimm: 2.12

so im gonna put the 3rd stick back on, changing vcore as 1.45 and dimm +0.2v. and also there are "fsb overvoltage" and "(g)mch overvoltage" on bios settings. those are needs to be changed too?

i run prime95 blend for 30 mins w/o error and i think finally it is stable.

cpu multiplier: 8x
cpu fsb: 400mhz
ram multiplier: 2.0
pci freq: auto
ram timings: auto (5-5-5-18 according to cpuz, aida64, etc.)
vcore: 1.525v (1.472v according to cpuz, aida64 etc.)
drimm: +0.1v (1.904v according to cpuz, aida64 etc.)
fsb voltage: normal
(g)MCH voltage: normal

so is this vcore in danger range for this cpu and also why there is some discrepancy between bios and softwares?
my mobo is supporting 1600fsb but it marked with (oc) on gigabyte.com. is this gonna cause any problem since fsb voltage set as normal?

THANK YOU SO MUCH!
