Second build hands down is the better build for gaming. I feel like most of the parts are unnecessary, and I agree with most of the points synphul is suggesting.

I'm only going to talk in regards to the second build. If you're building your own, go check out pcpartpicker.com

A 212 evo or T4 from cooler master will do fine for cooling that system.

RAM is probably one of the points i may disagree with synphul on. 16gb doesn't hurt especially if it's already part of budget and what not. I do have moments where I have been limited by 8gb of RAM, but the frequency of that was very small. Usually it'd involve some kind of mods or playing some game with a ton of chrome tabs open or something along those lines.

PSU, get a better quality...
I think you could save some money going with an i5 if gaming is your goal. Also 8gb ram is pretty much the sweet spot for gaming, 16gb has diminishing returns. What you save there could likely help go toward a gtx 980 or be extra cash in your pocket. Given the current cost/performance I think you'll be saving a good deal without sacrificing much performance sticking with a gtx 970. I'm not too sure what or when, but there's been talk of newer gpu's coming out fairly soon I think so that may provide other options or may affect price of current gpu's.

It depends what else you do with your pc, but i7's don't offer much in the way of performance increase over i5's in terms of gaming fps.

HDD you probably can find a cheaper one somewhere.

OK so will the cooling you suggested be ok with me overclocking my cpu?
and any PSU suggestions ? i donk know what makes a good one?
:p

Don't worry about the CPU/Motherboard then.

Depending on your PSU, upgrading your GPU. If you have a lower tier PSU, upgrade the PSU also.

As for cooling, if you're going to continue with the i7 upgrade, yes, those cooler will do just fine.

PSU: evga supernova g2 850w if you want to go with something >700w. If not, then Seasonic M12II 620w would do just fine.

I would go for the second too.Looking at what you put in there and the even the gtx 970 would the i7 be my choice too by now.
Something that would do good too and is about the same price, just changed some different parts so a sli ready psu (if you want that) would be possible,
http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/2PbF3C
tried to stay with that color theme too.
Motherboard does sli too and also has the 1150 audiochipThe asrock you chose doesn't do sli.
With 16gb of ram would i go with two sticks, less strain on the memory controller which means a little less heat too.
The ssd is imo the better choice too.
That cooler seems to do a good job for the price.

Well some other thoughts to consider.

I can see why the i5 may not be your preference if you already have one. Just keep in mind the i7 is a hefty price over the i5 and won't give but about 3-5fps increase in most games. It might be different in europe, I know pricing is different there than it is here in the states. Generally here in the states the 4790k is more of what I'd consider an awkward price bracket. It's performance is only slightly better than an i5 4690k which is $100usd less and for just $30usd more there's the i7 5820k which has double the l3 cache and 6 cores unlocked with ht. Since it falls so closely to the x99 platform in terms of price (at least here) it makes little sense to pay such a premium for the quad core i7.
