gigabyte gtx 970 vs gigabyte r9 290x?

Both of them are great cards at 1080p. the GTX 970 beats the R9 290X at 1080p. the real difference is at 4K . the GTX 970 beats some times at 4K ( Despite the V ram issue ). the R9 290X beats some times at 4k . the GTX 970 beats at 4k on games which optimized for Nvidia like : ACU ,Watch dogs and ................. . the R9 290X beats at 4k on games which optimized for AMD like : BF4 , ( Never settle forever ) games and ......... .
WARNING : the GTX 970 don't have an ordinary 4 GB memory ( 256-bit). it has a 3.5 GB and a slower 0.5 memory ( slower bandwidth ) , SO theoretical the R9 290X ( with 4 GB 512-bit ) beats at 4k , byt at real life they are equal at 4k. look at the benchmarks :
the benchmarks was made that time which the gtx 970 had the issue , but wasn't discovered.
at 1080p :
I prefer the gtx 970 , but you are the one who choose.
some people says that the GTX 970 will have FPS drop if the game uses more than 3.5 GB (because the card will use the slower 0.5 GB if the game uses more than 3.5 GB),but I DON'T see this . the GTX 970 is a beast.
the R9 290X USES a lot of energy and makes much heat , so you will need a good psu and a good cooling system if you want to use it,but still the R9 290X is a power horse.
