CPU fan for Overclocking AMD FX-6300

Im looking for a new CPU fan in order to overclock the AMD FX-6300. now, im not real worried about the noise, i already have a pretty loud fan thats gonna be a lot louder than any cpu fan, so if noise isnt a factor, can I get a fan that will do the job safely for around 10-15 dollars?

For about $30 you can get the excellent coolermaster evo, which is good for overclocking:

There are alot of coolers for less, but if you want to have a good cooler you need to invest a bit more.

CM 212 evo like someone said, or you could check out the cm t4. They're both pretty much the same thing, but I think the T4 is marginally cheaper.

If you're cpu is the bottleneck ,you might get a noticeable performance boost, but it's still reliant on the rest of your hardware.

GPU: r9 270x
RAM: 8GB ddr3-1600 Mhz

Though the FX 6300 will not bottleneck the R9 270x, a higher overclock will get you smoother gameplay, as in higher minimum framerates. Also in online multiplayer games it should help with the framerates.

Yes, it also improves performance. Just watch your temperatures and watch for artifacts during gameplay, overclocking too much will cause trouble, for example can crash the game or your entire system.

yea, Ive watched a few videos. I dont see how overclocking a GPU is safe since you cant chage the fans.

Anything is safe if you know how to go about it. There are thermal limits and power limits before you have to worry about artifacts. If you're not going crazy no the overclocking, you'll be fine.

Usually it is safe to overclock just a little, 5%-10% or so. Don't go very high at the start but take small steps and test each time. If you are really serious you can change the fans and do alot of things to get higher overclocks, but this will have an additional cost and usually it isn't really worth it.
