I have a HP Pavilion G6 series. Windows 7 SP1, 320 GB - ST320LM0 00 HM321HI SATA, 8GB memory, bytes/sector = 512. It has 4 partitions #1 = 199 MB(system), #2 = 273.11GB(hard drive), #3 = 20.82GB(Recovery), #4 = 3.97GB(HP_TOOLS)
I have tried using Acronis True Image 2014 but it would not let me select my new drive (Seagate SSHD 1TB) as the destination drive without any explanation. I even formatted it and it still would not let me pick it.
I then tried using Macrium Reflect Free, which I was able to select the new drive, but it said the new drive was incompatible because of the sector size.
After looking, I know the sector size on the old drive is 512 and the sector size on the new drive is 4096.
The old drive is still in the CPU and the new drive was hooked up via USB using CoolGear SS123ASD.
Is there any way to get around this? Or did I just waste $100 bucks on this new HD? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
