Hello everyone,
I've finally given up on my FX-8350's stock cooler. After coming up from a fully shut down state and playing LOTR: War in the North for <10 minutes, the PC randomly shut down. I look in the UEFI and see that CPU temps are in the red. 80C. I've shut off cores 7-8 and throttled down the CPU to 3.4GHz for the time being.
Based on threads I've seen, the Cooler Master Hyper 212 is too big for my case. What would be a recommended aftermarket cooler for my build?
APEVIA X-Trooper mid tower
AMD FX-8350 with stock cooler
ASUS M5A99X EVO R2.0
Kingston HyperX
DiabloTek 775 watt PSU
EDIT: Pea-sized dot in the middle looks to be the best way to apply the compound. Based on the other threads, I'd be okay with a 125mm-ish cooler. Any recommendations would be great.
Thanks in advance.
