Graphics Card in HP desktop broke, cheaper option than what was in there?

My neighbor's computer's graphics card fan broke, and replacement fans aren't available anywhere. That particular card seems a bit pricey. Is there something less expensive I could substitute the 9500gs for, for the following pc?:

take a look at newegg. you can definitely find something good for less than $50.

The hd 5450 will do the trick. Its cheap and has very similar performance to his old card. Just to throw it out there, the gt 720 is 45$ and about 4x faster than his old card.
