Current build:
GTX 760 MicroATX 2GB
8GB DDR3
H61Matx Mobo
Pentium G2030 Dual Core.
520W Seasonic 80+ Bronze
Dell 1080p Monitor
I am looking at building a new PC over the next year or so and using my current PC for friends or for taking to University and keeping the new one at home.
Now I have a huge debate and I because I want to build it over a few years, the GPU will probably be the last item I will buy, would you recommend an AMD build or Intel/Nvidia?
The AMD kind of build I would look at would be:
CPU,MOBO,RAM bundle with 8GB RAM, 8 Core FX 8350, AM3+ Mobo
GPU R9 290 (price is around the same as a GTX 770 here)
PSU 750w 80+ Bronze
This build is yes more power hungry, but looks cheaper and more powerful than a Nvidia/Intel build for around the same price.
or
Intel, Nvidia
CPU,MOBO,RAM bundle with 8GB RAM, i5 4690k, ZH87 Mobo.
GPU Probably the GTX 970 (if I can afford it at the time, or the next generation or cards)
PSU 650w 80+
The prices here in South Africa are insane. It is the equivalent of $500 for a GTX970 and around $450 for the R9 290 card, the bundles for the CPU,MOBO and RAM cost about $500 which doesnt seem too bad for decent parts.
Please let me know what you would have in mind.
