Hi

With the new games being released 'Dying Light' and 'Assassin's Creed: Unity' it's clear that next generation consoles are making it a lot tougher on PC gamers. I have no idea why but currently it looks like a PS4 will outlast my PC whilst looking better on games.

Here is my specs:
i5 3570k 3.4ghz
8gb memory
gtx 770 2gb

I was going to purchase the new GTX 970 GPU so I can play the latest titles on a comfortable frame rate (60 fps) on top settings. I play 1920x1080 so I'm not looking to 4k gaming but with 'The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt' on the horizon it doesn't look good for my GTX 770.

Here is my question though. If I upgrade to a gtx 970 would a i5 3570k bottleneck it at all?

Thank you.

Solution
Your CPU is still excellent especially with a good OC. Any upgrade to anything like a 4690k would require a new mobo and give minimal performance gain. The 970 will give you a good performance boost
