Hi there,
Yesterday, someone donated a old hp to me.
It's got a pentium d915 in it and i was wanting to upgrade it so my brother can use it for school. I was planning on getting a core 2 quad and a new mobo, since this is still the stock hp mobo and it only supports 2gb of ram and has no overclocking features whatsoever. I've been looking on ebay and a couple of other local websites and i could only find some hp and dell mobo's. So, i was thinking about buying one from china. I could buy a GA-P43-ES3G by gigabyte for 35$. Does anyone have an idea if this is a good mobo? How much ram can it support and does it overclock?
Thnx in advance.

that motherboard seems to be a good mobo it supports 16GB ram but overclocking i dont know it may be working or no but dont overclock if u have intel cooler also i dont reccomend to overclock it because you will risk on breaking cpu or something

I don't really care about the cpu breaking because for 50€ i can get a core 2 quad 9600 and i was planning on buying that one anyway. Also, will that mobo work with a pcie 3.0 card since i was offered a 7670 for 15€.

if card is pci 2 then mobo will use pci 2 speed and if card is pci 3 then mobo will use pci 3. simple answer : pci2 card work on pci3
