Hi guys
I am in the process of moving Windows 7 to my new SSD drive and i am about to switch out my OEM Vista mobo with my new H81 mobo

I wondered if someone could help me? I have lost the disc so i am downloading 64 bit iso from digital river. I have used Belarc Advisor to get my key back, so I will mount it to a blank dvd but then i have the issue of what happens when i switch out the mobo with its stock OEM vista.

Does this mean i will lose windows 7? Any help would be appreciated on how best to navigate this process!

what do you mean oem vista mobo? If you have win 7 already installed then vista is irrelevant. Now if it is oem 7 and you replace mobo then you would have to reactivate 7 which you would have to call microsoft automated service.

Thanks te, The windows 7 install i have is actually standalone but an upgrade ontop of the vista oem if that makes sense. I guess i was worried that the upgrade would still be seen as tied to the OEM and thereby not be working when i upgrade. Seems i was wrong as Microsoft confirmed to me today that the version of Windows 7 would work.
