Hi guys, I'm looking to build a new PC for basic school work (like word processing and browsing) and wanted to know if I went a bit overboard on the performance and if everything is compatible. I'm planning on storing most of my things in the cloud so storage space is not a big deal, and I already have a copy of windows 8.

Unless you also wanted to do things like gaming with it, even an i3 would be more than sufficient for school work like word processing and browsing. Even my old e8400 was more than plenty for those tasks, they take very little processing power.

For that you'd need a dedicated GPU. Nothing too extreme, though.
