Hello guys i'b building a new build and i don't know what to choose, an I7 4790k + gtx 960 OR I5 4690 + gtx 970. It will be with an 250 gb samsung 840 evo ssd, 1 tb seagate barracuda hdd, 8 gb g.siill ripjawks-X RAM and a msi z97 gaming 5 motherboard.
So wich one is going to be more futureproof for playing videogames/ video and foto editing? And also wich of them sill have more benchmark puntuation? Thank u all

To sum up of what both of them said:

If you need to video edit, the i7 4790k would be the better option, however the 960 will probably fall out as a card for maxing games out.

I agree with tburdz, get the i5 4690k and the 970. Then later buy a 4790k ONLY if you need to video edit.

If you plan on video editing then get the I7 4790k because the hyperthreading will come in handy. If you are looking for the best gaming performance right now then get the i5 4690k paired with a gtx 970. If you need more help send me a message

I hate to be this way but the 960 isnt future proof at all with 2 gb of vram u really gotta get the 970 so get that i5 or i would suggest coming up with the cash it will be worth it in the long run. Also for the 970 get the msi ik everybody loves evga i love em to but the msi has 6 stage power delivery vs the evga 4 stage evga fans cant argue the facts get the msi 970 and the i7 4790k just save up the cash u will be glad u did

hear is were i stand i had a sand bridge i7 2600k in my gaming rig which i later flushed money down the toilet by upgrading to a 4790k the gaming difference was none. My point is if u get that i7 it will last u 3-5 years through many gpu upgrades. This is because cpus themselves have about maxed how far they can go with power and there needs to be an alternative way to make them or we are sort of stuck. Ik i sound like a jackass Bottom line is get the i7 and it will last u forever if u really just cant get the i7, get the i5 but the 970 is needed dont even think about that 960 plz get the 970. IF U READ ONE THING READ THIS! I would save up some cash get this

gpu msi gaming 4g oc 970

cpu 4790k

mobo up to u i suggest msi gaming 3

psu evga supernova 750 g2 its more then u need but its non argueable topic its the best and its a must

case doesnt matter

cpu cooler cooler master hyper 212 evo all i can say is its just a cpu coolers legend

PLEASE NOTE ram 8gb for gaming but 16 for editing any brand thats well known speed doesnt matter

i think i covered everything if u have ??? ask im here to help

sorry for spelling in grammer im in a bit of a rush lol

Exactly. People, I guess, are fooled by the label EVGA puts on them. We need an advertisment that shows that PSUs are the best ones for gaming, etc.

Not to be a jerk but anyone who says the evga supernova g2 750 is a bad psu is just wrong im sorry but u cant argue the facts it has amazing voltage regulation and ripple surpression and it only uses the highest grade parts get it
