Hi, I'm a new builder looking to make a gaming system capable of ultra settings with an eye towards Oculus. This will be my second build, did my first about 5-6 years ago, and I've researched a good bit but my knowledge about specs is still lacking.

I have a budget of around $800 and I will be using some parts from my current system. I have some wiggle room if anyone has any better recommendations as well as saving the windows 8.1 upgrade until later if my windows 7 (64-bit) will suffice. Here is the build I've set up so far.

Not looking for SLI, maybe overclocking later. Compatibility looks good, I'm just looking for advice to my build and how well it may run ultra (Skyrim, Dragon Age 3, etc.) and possibly DK2

I will be using the fans, optical drive, 100gb and 500gb drives from my current system as well as my PSU.
I am slightly concerned about my PSU as it is a CX-500 Bronze. The calculators I've used have me running under 400w. I do plan to upgrade it later will it work with this build until then?

Great build. It will get you high-ultra on many games. the 4 gb of gddr ram on the gpu will help load textures very well. However, you probably can't use ultra on oculus. probably most at high

If you wanna overclock then you have to buy an i5 4690k. The K means it is unlocked and overclockable. If you have windows 7 lying around then use that as Microsoft is offering a free upgrade to windows 10 for windows 7 and 8 users. The build is very good but if you plan on overclocking or adding anything to your system, I would advise getting a 650 watt 80+gold psu from Seasonic, Xfx, Corsair, etc. Other than that have fun with your new pc!!!!!

I recommend this psu as it provides a fully modular cabling system, its 80+gold, and its made by seasonic with a 7year warranty. http://
