Hey everyone,

Currently building a new system which can be seen here -
http://pcpartpicker.com/user/AndrossKirk/saved/8mPhP6

Going to get a GTX 970 4gb card, and then take my 16 gb RAM DDR3 and my CPU Intel 2600 I-7 3.4 GHZ from my old Alienware x51.

I haven't decided on a case yet, I'll likely get it from Fry's.

Wondering, as far as cooling, should I get anything more than the CPU cooler I've selected on PC part picker?
Ideally I would like to avoid the headache, and cost of liquid cooling.

Thanks!

Yes you will want an I7 in that case, probably one of he Haswell-E ones with 6 cores. 6K editing is intense stuff. In that case also get that cooler and overclock the CPU. For your work you want to get top tier CPU.

I'm considering then getting a completely new CPU with a newer motherboard.

I'm just trying to create a high end system that can handles 6K RED footage for editing, Nuke, After Effects, Adobe Premiere, & hardcore gaming with no lag or over heating what so ever.

Would you say it's worth it then to dish out the extra $400 for a new CPU in that case?
