I have a intel i5 3450 ivy bridge processor at stock settings. What i was thinking of was having 2 Sapphire Radeon HD 7970s. I have 8gb of ram, a soundblaster sound card, 4 120mm fans, 1 140mm fan, 1 external hdd, 1 internal hdd (7200 rpm), a dvd/rw drive, and a 650w sli ready power supply. According to a psu calculator i found, i should be all set, but i'm not sure how this will handle under heavy gaming loads.
Thanks for the responses!
