What would be better 4 x 2 = 8gb @ 1333hz or 2 x 4 = 8gb @ 1600hz?
Specifically I'm thinking what would be more effective: Finding some cheap 2gb 1333hz ram stick to make my 6 to an 8 (which is my arbitrary goal), or to just uninstall the 6 gb ( 3 x 2gb) and replace it with 2 x 4 gb. And also what you think of Kingston as a manufacturer?

Solution
Mixing ram speeds and brands can lead to problems. If you buy a cheap stick of ram chances are it's going to have very bad timings and is going to force your other sticks down to that low speed. Overall not a good idea. You'd be better off just buying higher speed ram of all the same brand/module.

Kingston make quality products.
