does gpu architecture matters in performance

I want to know that does gpu architecture also matter for performance. What i mean is like for example:- in cpu i7 2.8 ghz haswells >I7 3.0 ghz ivy bridge>i7 3.2 ghz sandy bridge>core 2 quad 4.6ghz wolfdale so in same way does in gpu is that architecture Increase performance
For example:- amd radeon hd 6950 2gb and amd r7 265x or nvidia gtx 560ti and gtx 750ti so here old high end having more bandwidth,texture rate,pixel rate and core so will new mid card match that performance

Yes architecture is what matters most. Studying architectures though will become way too complex in deciding a GPU, it's best to just check performance benchmarks or ask on the forums what ones are good. It's also assumed a newer GPU = better architecture and better performance.

So if older gpu have higher cloks and for example 160 g/ babndwidth and 80 g/ texture and 40 g/ piixel and 1600 core compare to new gpu with lower clocks and 120 g/ and 55 g/ texture and 30 g/ pixel and 850 core which will perform batter

If you take a kickass previous generation card with old architecture and compare it to shitty card with new architecture, the old card will be flat out better...

So while architecture is important, the most important thing is the actual performance, that's why you need to hit the reviews.

Simple examples - Old 780Ti will rock New 960 hardcore... Old Radeon 280X is better than New Radeon 285X and so on...
