Im selling my 2 780 classifieds as we speak on ebay looking for a change not sure which way to go would prefer to be able to water cool the card or cards im open to any ideas but would like to stay under $800 and I play at 5760x1080 so im thinking two possibly three 290x used or one 295x2 or one 290x 8gb and crossfire it later but i cant seem to find a water block for that card also not excluding nvidia just not seeing any big draw to anything they have as im more concerned about vram then actual processing power as that is the down fall on the 780s im getting rid of as far as psu goes i have a 1050 and a 750 that will both fit in my case so no worries there

780TIs are better than the R9 290 cards, there isn't much you could upgrade. The 295x2 is a beast GPU, with it's massive amount of Vram and processing power. I'm not sure how the 295X2 performs though, I know for a fact it runs hot and it's the most powerful card, it may not optimize games to it's full potential though. You could go with dual GTX 970's for about $700 which is only about $150ish more than a GTX 980. But then again the 780Ti and GTX 970 are about the same performance but the GTX 970 has a few advantages such as a bit more VRAM and less power usage.

heat is not an issue as i have three loops in my build and would be putting the new cards underwater as for the 780ti sli set up im not sure its worth the money over the 290x in xfire and the 295x2 would be pushing my budget with an aftermarket block and i can still get 2 290x cheaper and thats why im not really looking at nvidia to hard they just arnt in the same price to performance bracket as the r9 series in my opinion
