I have my computer hooked up to a 47" TV with HDMI for some of my games. In normal picture mode, there is a large black frame of unused space on the TV. In wide mode, the frame is smaller but still exists. Stretch and zoom mode zoom in too much.

I tried connecting a different computer with the same cable, and in normal mode the whole screen was being used. This computer was using onboard Intel graphics, and mine uses a Radeon HD 7950. So I'm guessing it's something with the graphics card.

Does anyone know how to make it use the whole TV and get rid of the black frame?

In the Catalyst Control Center (CCC) there is a section for setting up a TV properly. You're looking for settings that deal with something called "Overscan" or "Scaling". Using these settings you'll be able to adjust the display so that all of the TV is used. Also, make sure your resolution is set to a common TV resolution, these include 1080p (1920x1080) or 720p (1024x720). These resolutions are for Widescreen TVs, if yours isn't widescreen, ask google for the correct resolution.
