Hey guys! so a couple years back i bought a prebuild pc from HP called the h8-1214. Through out the years i upgraded it little by little and currently i am running a gtx 560 SC and a 750w power unit. I now want to upgrade it a bit more with a gtx 970 but when i installed it i realize my prebuild mobo doesnt support it :[ was wondering whats the best GPU i can get for this type of mobo under $300usd

What is the name of the motherboard? Also I've heard that pretty much all PCI-e MOBOs support any kind of GPU. I succesfully installed a R7 250 on a PCI-e 1.0 motherboard, ran without any problems.

Its not the PCI-e slot. Its more of less my mobo that it came with. The bios im currently running and can upgrade to limit me to what card i can use so i was just wondering if there's a card out there thats stronger then my current gtx 560 sc and still be compatible with the mobo bios :\

Unfortunately mate, i did some research and you either have buy a NVIDIA gpu from the 6xx series or lower (your motherboard doesnt support NVIDIA 7xx and 9xx GPU series) , or you have to upgrade your motherboard, and then buy a GTX970 or whatever you like. The GTX 6xx series are a bit old now mate, and definitely use more power and have less performance, but they are still very good for gaming; depends which one you pick (GTX650-low end , GTX660 and 670-mid to high end, gtx680-high end). I would suggest you to buy a new motherboard along with any card you want.
