I have a HD 6850 paired with a A6-6400k and the crossfire makes performance worse (I expected that), i was willing to upgrade to a new APU to get a good crossfire.
May be the APU A10-7850k will do the work. If no I would like to know if there is any APU I can use for a good crossfire. And if yes i would like to know if there's a way I can 3 crossfire GPU + GPU + APU?
I want to improve the CPU as the same time I improve my GPU performance, of course a GTX 960 would do a better job, but the CPU would still be underpowered for the GPU.

Solution
2-way 6850 crossfire is going to be like a single 79xx (R9 280)

Plus 6850 is EOL.

7850k will crossfire with R7 250/250x

To be honest, instead of spending the $$$ on a new APU and another GPU I would change over to discrete MoBo + CPU + GPU.

You can most likely still use the RAM from the APU build. If it is at least low latency DDR3 1600 it will work great on a new platform.

I tried it a long ago since it is not my rig, but i will give it a try again with the new drivers.
Thanks for saying about that!

I know it would be the best, but this rig is not aiming for hardcore all ultra 60 fps, all I want is to play all, lets say at high to ultra at 40ish fps or medium 60ish fps.
The rig is almost new it has less than 1 year so I'am not willing to change it all.

I wanted to know it there is a way to improve de CPU significantly and gain some more GPU power, I would rather do a APU + GPU than with 2 GPU and the APU, so I'm only willing to buy a new APU but I want to know if I will get a decent GPU boost or just none.
Thanks.

Yes, give the newest drivers a try. See if there's any improvement. Otherwise I'd say you're better off sticking with what you have until you're ready for a major upgrade (CPU and GPU and possibly MB).
Good luck.

OK. Can you tell us what motherboard and RAM you have? This will tell us if a 7850k will work well.

What is the native resolution of your monitor? 7850k by itself is fairly capable at 1080p, and does well at 720p.

Do you have a cooler good enough to put a mild OC on the APU?

Here's a few references that may also help you decide how to proceed..

One takeaway: You need an FM2+ motherboard to use Kaveri 7850k. FM2 won't support it.
