I would be most grateful if anyone can tell me the difference between these two cards?
1. LN60194
4GB EVGA GTX 980 Superclocked ACX 2.0, 7010MHz GDDR5, GPU 1266MHz, Boost 1367MHz, 2048 Cores, 3x DP, 1x DVI-I, 1x HDMI
2.LN62444
4GB EVGA GTX 980 Classified ACX 2.0, 28nm, PCIe 3.0, 7010MHz GDDR5, GPU 1291MHz, Boost 1393MHz, Cores 2048, DP/DVI/HDMI

1st card costs £455.98 while the 2nd costs £587.99. The LN number is the stock no. of Scan.co.uk. Apart from some of slight speed difference and card width difference, is there any significant difference in performance or is one card better than the other? If you think that other make is better, I appreciate your suggestion.

Solution

No, not really, since one cost $100+ more than the other, you can OC it yourself, if you want, through EVGA tool or MSI Afterburner.

Wow, that was quick! I was still typing the updates. But thank you for your suggestion. So, you think that for the difference in cost, it is not worth it to get the faster one?

The difference is that the Superclocked card features:
a reference pcb and has (2) 6 pin connectors

where the classified is usually one of the top tier cards, with:
fully custom pcb, (2) 8 pin connectors (allows higher voltages when overclocking), comes with triple bios, higher clocks out of the box.

The Classified cards are really meant to be put under water, or for LN2 overclocking. That is where they really shine. Otherwise if you are just going to be using the card with the ACX cooler, and not overclocking the piss out of it, then go with the superclocked version and just overclock it to where you desire.

The Classifieds have reworked PCBs, usually have some extra features like the Triple BIOS, and are expected to have more overclocking headroom than an SC will have. The triple BIOS is a big deal for enthusiast as the Classy is targeted on folks who are going to replace the stock AC cooler with water-cooling and do extreme overclocking. As hard crashes are an occupational hazard for that crowd, the backup BIOSes give them hope for recovering their cards after a Something-Bad-Just-Happened event.

Thank you all for the information. The difference in £100 sterling pound. I understand now that you do get what you pay for. And thanks, HWlover, I don't do OC, so there is no reason for spending that extra £100 pounds.
