Let me start off by saying that I don't have the product key or the original disc from my Windows 7 boot anymore. My SSD is 120GB and my HDD is 1 TB. I want to moving the windows 7 boot over to the SSD because currently it's being used for nothing. I need help and I'm really new to this, so explain everything to be as if I were 10.

If the HDD is a 1TB and you used up 100GB, I'd partition the drive. So you still have your files on the HDD but apart from the rest of the HDD.

Plug in the SSD and unplug the HDD, if your using a USB ISO than load from your USB, or CD. After installing the OS than replug in the HDD,
and just remember when your installing big files, like a game etc make sure its located at the (G:/) -Letter drive may vary-

Note* there are ways to automatically allow the computer to download files directly to your secondary drive.

How much of the 1TB drive is filled? And how much of that is programs vs data? Data is not a big deal. Programs are harder to move around.

Plenty of ways to clone an OS from drive to drive. Acronis True Image is about the simplest to use, but it is not free.

SSD manufacturer might provide a free copy of Acronis True Image for a one way copy.

Free tools like Clonezilla can achieve the desired result, but is a bit more technical and you would need to do some prep work.
