Hello, I have stupidly pressed the auto overclock button on the asus suite. I have then uninstalled it and the overclock has remained. I've then reset cmos and removed battery yet it still seems to be saved somewhere. Has anyone got any advice on how to find what to do? If not it looks like a clean reinstall which is fast but the updates... we all know.

Have you tried resetting to defaults in BIOS? Here's a link for AI Suite II Cleaner - the regular uninstall is usually insufficient. When you open it to run it, right-click and select "Run as administrator", otherwise you'll get an error message.

Last, might consider reflashing the BIOS before you try reinstalling OS. I know, everyone is scared to death of flashing, but if you've got reliable power and follow the instructions, there's very little chance that it will fail. Anyway, your call.

I've already tried all that. The only thing is the link that really is something new. Thank you for that :)
I flashed it recently to check that it wasent the problem. It just seemed like something was left and if theres a problem to do a cleaner uninstall i think ive most likely found the solution. Thank you Volcanoscout
