R7 250 or HD 5870?

Hi all, i am planning to upgrade from my old beast HD 4870, and i am planning to buy r7 250 because of of latest support and good price, but also i am offered with an hd5870 which is better on paper but i saw in real life that they are preety similar one is better in one way, other in another. I am an occasional gamer, and ultra details are not important if the game is playable.
My specs are
C2duo e8300
6Gb ddr3 ram
Antec 550w psu
Mobo: i don't know, but its gigabyte :D

You are correct that 5870 is better, but i saw test on youtube that r7 250 sometimes works better than 5870 and that botters me, also my cpu could bottleneck 5870 a lot, and i think 5870 will loose driver support very soon and then i'm stuck again, 30-40fps is great for me, i'm not a heavy gamer though, also, could my psu run 5870?

Assuming you have 2 6pin PCI-E power connectors, that PSU will run a 5870. The only way a 250 will run games better is if it has 2gb's of Ram vs. the 1gb that is probably on the 5870, and I'd still buy the 5870. Don't worry about driver support whatsoever. Even if your cpu bottlenecks that gpu, you'll still get better performance than a 250.
