Hi,
I've re-installed windows 7 on an ASUS laptop and now I can't connect to the internet. It's an Intel CPU B940.

Thanks for the help

you need to install the NIC drivers for your laptop, your laptop should have come with a CD including these drivers, otherwise you can search the model number for the drivers

I searched Asus B940 and got this:
http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/X54HY/HelpDesk_Download/

make sure if that's your laptop

Yea, unless you used the CD provided by the manufacturer, you aren't going to have any drivers after a reinstall. You'll have to access a computer that has internet connection, download the ethernet/wireless driver and save it to a thumb drive. Then, install it to the laptop in order to access the internet and download whatever remaining drivers you may need.

Yeah, that's the thing, the person for which I am formatting the PC for lost every CD she had so I'm working with a blank slate. As for the drivers in the links that entomber sent me they didn't seem to work. The model is X53E.

Thank you very much! That worked! I can now access internet on the laptop! The weird thing though is that it still detects an ethernet controller device without drivers, but the internet works just fine!

Well that's another problem solved! Thanks again! I have just a last one if you guys can bear with me a little bit more ^^' . I have installed every drivers I think were necessary and also my audio drivers but I still have no sound coming from my speakers. I can use headphones or external speakers just fine but the internal one won't work. Thank you again.
