Hello there,

I have a problem with getting 1866 MHZ on my Mini ITX Board ASUS P8H77-i.

I've bought 16GB Kingston HyperX FURY schwarz DDR3-1866 DIMM CL10 Dual Kit.

The Mainboard automatically set my RAM to 1600 MHZ. If I change it to 1866 MHZ the PC won't boot. If I change it to 1866 MHZ (and 1800 MHZ) and raise it to 1.6V it doesn't start either. I tried 12 - 12 - 12 steppings (bad ones) and it doesn't work either. Just 1600 MHZ with different or auto Timings. Why? This RAM is said to be 1866 MHZ and the board seams to support it.

I don't have any XMP settings whatsoever.

Thanks for your help.

I have the latest BIOS and under advanced there is no XMP settings.

on my asus Z97M-PLUS mb, on the basic UEFI Bios page, there's an option to enable XMP, on the left hand side. enabling it there changes some of the settings in the advanced and AI tweaker pages

if i leave it dis-abled which is default in my BIOS, my G.Skill RipJaws 1600 MHz memory runs at 1333 MHz, enabled it hits 1600 MHz

As I said there is no XMP for this RAM and there is no XMP settings. This is a fact. That's why I tried it manually and can't understand what's wrong. I could take a screenshot if you like.

i'm not a guru, by any means, but there were a couple of issues (overheating was one of them) that clearing the CMOS cleared the issue. The Asus bios seem to have some conflicts built in - you might try clearing CMOS and trying again - all it will mean is having to reset the time and date in BIOS before you fully boot again.
if that doesn't do it, and i would clear it as a basic step, then try re-installing the latest bios from Asus

My specs:
Intel Core i7 3770 k
Asus P8H77-i http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P8H77I/specifications/ (It says it's supported)
16GB Kingston HyperX FURY schwarz DDR3-1866 DIMM CL10 Dual Kit

I tried, no luck - PC won't start. It's because the CPU doesn't support it I think.

I called Kingston about this problem with my motherboard and they said it's because of the CPU. On this page there is also said, 1600 MHZ is max for it. I tried to increase the Voltage of the RAM, didn't work, tried 12 timings because they are said to be a good starting point, didn't work. Sure OC of the CPU itself ( currently 3,5 - 3,9 GHZ (Turbo)) could work?
