So I posted on here once before about my build and wanted to update you all on my current build and hope it will be at least mid tier in terms of performance if not better. Please feel free to comment on anything.

Case : Corsair 500r Black Mid-Tower
CPU: Intel i5 4690k 3.5ghz quad core
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 970 Twinfrozr V I upgraded the GPU as suggested, did a little research and found MSI to be the best for the money.
Mobo: ASRock Fatal1ty Z97 Killer
Ram: G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB
PSU: EVGA 220-G2-0750-XR
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
Monitor: Acer GN246HL Bbid 24IN 3D LED Gaming Monitor 1920x1080 144HZ 1ms VGA DVI HDMI

Solution
1. Great case.
2. Most AMD video cards have NO heat issues.
3. Any 2x4GB RAM kit around 1600-1866mhz will work. Little thought should go into RAM.
4. Optical drives are not important most of the time.
5. Get a Z97 motherboard of you insist on overlclocking, not Z87
6. ssds are nice, but if gaming is the main concern, they can be left out.
7. Don't buy an i5 4690k + $100 water cooler when you could just get a 4790k for the same price.
8. -i7s aren't necessary for gaming, but the 4790k already runs at 4.4ghz stock and you'd only get around 4.6ghz with the i5.
9. Don't pay so much for an expensive i5 + mobo + cooler and then get a 280x
10. You should get at least a GTX970 or R9 290x in a build this expensive.
11. That is a good psu, but...

I have read the z87 has issues with the Haswell refresh so I will be swapping it out for the z97. I had read about the evo 212 and i think it may be a better idea with this build. And will save me some money, I will use it for a better gpu. The gtx 970 seems to be a winner, so dropping an extra bill on that wont bother me one bit. Thank you both for your input.
