Hi every geeks,
I recently bought Asus r9 270x director's cut edition. At for first ten days when I played games on windows 7 64 the temperature goes to 75-76 at Max. Load under 4 hrs of gaming.
Now I have upgraded my OS to Windows 8.1 pro 64 bit then I rechecked the temp. it was 54c under load that was fine. After couple of days I updated my OS then now Temp. Heats up to 79c under 99% load of 4-5 hrs of gaming.
So please can anyone tell me if that's OKAY or should I worry about Temp. Issue.
Sorry for my bad English.

with amd and nvidia part of the thermal control of the gpu is built into the firmware of the gpu. (that why hear at post gpu fans max out then level down). the other fan control is done by gpu drivers and a fan or thermal profile. you can try uninstalling ati drivers and then putting the newest drivers on the rig see if the newest drivers have a better thermal profile for your gpu or you can use msi afterburner and have the gpu fans spin up faster at a lower gpu temp to keep the card cooler. the side affect is the gpu will be louder.

those are normal temps

just improve the airflow on your case front and side intake fans and top and rear exhaust fans

if you want you can reapply thermal paste - change with a better quality but it will void warranty

increase your fan speed to 50% or 75% using afterburner or precision x
