I'm a beginner in this(trying to learn). I Intend to upgrade my GPU to R7 260X. Do i require any other upgrade to my hardware to complement it? I wish to game in 1080p on at least, low-medium settings. If possible, I prefer to spend not too much.

My specs:

CPU: Intel i7-3770 @ 3.40 GHz(8 CPUs)
RAM: 8GB DDR3
GPU: Geforce GT 640
PSU: Cooler Master EX2 625(I need clarification on the amount of watts it provides)
MOBO: Gigabyte Z77M-D3H

I hope I'm posting on the right section.

As the model name suggests, the power supply is 625 Watts.

Yes, you're good to go, you just need to remember to uninstall the Nvidia drivers, turn off the PC, install the new graphics card, boot up and install the AMD drivers.

Have you considered used? Now that the Geforce 960 is out I'm seeing a lot of Geforce 670s for sale second hand (I'm in the UK, and I've seen several for sale on Ebay for £100).

That CPU is awesome and you have enough RAM. The only thing holding you back is the graphics card.
If you can spend a bit extra I highly recommend going for something a bit more powerful like a R9 270X.
Spending that little bit more will allow you to play more games.

I'm a bit skeptical when it comes to second hand hardware in my area considering the area I'm from.

How 'a bit' is a bit?

The difference between medium and low settings on some games, and the difference between whether or not you can run the most graphics intensive games. So if you are interested in games like the Witcher 3, Dead Rising 3, Assassins Creed or Far Cry 4 it will make a noticeable difference.

Thanks for the help guys! I'll consider the R9 270X if I can save up more for that. I chose gopher1369's answer as the solution as it answered the main question. Justin Milard's recommendation definitely helped me to rethink a little on my upgrade. Thanks again!
