Hi. recently installed a new samsung SSD, and then decided to test it using AS SSD benchmark device.
It read "pciide - Bad"
I looked at some forums that suggested I go into BIOS -integrated peripherals - onchip - PATA/SATA devices, and change the SATA setting from IDE to AHCI
there was no option to do so, only and "enable/disable" option.
But there was a AHCI option on the RAID mode just beneath it.
I changed the RAID option top AHCI from IDE, figuring I don't have a raid array and it might adjust the whole system, so what the hell, and restarted and rebooted at instructed.

Just re-tested my speeds using AS SSD benchmark again, and got the same "pciide - BAD" message.
Am I not getting best speeds? does all this mean nothing? What should I do?
Thanks!

The entire results are as follows:

Solution
Your still running IDE.
Even if you can find the option to change it to AHCI you will need to reformat and install the OS again you can't format IDE then just switch to AHCI and the drive work.

So far despite several miracle cures, (changing registry values, BIOS tweaks and re-installing particular drivers from a disk or usb) you appear to be totally correct. sigh. I wish I had know before i installed! well better late then never. Thanks!
