Hey Guys, I'm having issue with my new build and was hoping to see if one you you would have any advice. Here is my current hardware

M5A78L-M/USB3 Motherboard
AMD FX 9379 CPU
GeForce 550 TI
16GB Gskill DDR3
PNY SSD
750W PSU

After putting it all together I turned on the computer and all the fans are coming to live (including the watercooling for CPU), green LED on the motherboard is on but no sound or picture (yes speakers installed). After messing around with it for a little while I decided to clear CMOS which booted the computer. I installed Win10 and a few other things and it seem to work fine. It restarted by itself during Win10 installation with no issues. Once I shut off the computer and tried to turn it back on - same as before, no sound no boot. - I had to clear CMOS again.

I replaced the mobo battery and that seem to have worked at first, but I guess it only worked as a CMOS clear as well. Also when the PC was on I played world of warcarft on it - no issues.

Looking through different forums I found that people don't think I should be able to run a FX-9370 with a 120W board, the CPU says its a 220W CPU on newegg but that is refering to the heat of the processor I believe, also I should not have been able to get it working in that case.

The PSU which could be the other issue came from my previous build and worked fine the entire time I had it in the old system.

Do you guys believe that he mobo is to weak for the processor, and if so what other Micro ATX could I use (yes I need a micro atx for the Thermaltake V21).

Let me know what you think

Solution
Not a CMOS issue the boards thermal design won't allow it to run the 9000 series chips.

Due to the poor power and thermal design that CPU can't run on the board.

100% not compatible.

The board isn't compatible , not even close.

Your choices for the FX9000 series:

Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3 R4.0

I prefer more performance ;)

Also SR-71 Blackbird:
I think you misunderstood me, I did use the rig as is and even played video games, if they aren't compatible - why would that have worked. (I believe that they aren't compatible just interested as to why i was able to use it)
