Onboard RAID controller?

Hey, I have a ROG Formula VII, was just wondering how good the onboard RAID controller is. Right now I'm running two 1tb Reds in RAID 0, but at some point I'll probably have three 3-4TB drives in RAID 5. Do/will I need a RAID controller, or will the onboard one be okay?

Solution
When you have a blank drive it has to be initialized in the GPT (GUID Partition Table) or the MBR (Master Boot Record) partitioning scheme first before you format it for use in Windows.

Drives (or RAID arrays) over 2TB must be initialized as GPT in order for Windows for see the additional capacity.

Here's some additional info for you on how to initialize your array:

The size of the drives/RAID won't be an issue? It should be reliable enough?

I checked my manual and saw no size restrictions, what exactly is GPT format?
