Hello guys, I have one concern about my PC

I have a old PC, but still does everything I need, the problem is, my motherboard (Asus P5Q3) doesn't have Windows 8.1 drivers on its website. My PC works kinda better with Windows 8.1 vs 7, giving me 5-10 fps boost in Battlefield 4. I overall I like it more than Windows 7.

So the question is, should I just keep running Windows 8.1 without Chipset, Audio drivers, or I should install Windows 7 drivers on Windows 8.1? Is that going to work?

As I said, motherboard is Asus P5Q3

Windows 8 and 8.1 have a pretty extensive set of drivers included, and drivers that aren't are often pulled down from Windows Update automatically. Unless you have some devices that aren't loading properly (i.e. devices that show little yellow exclamation points in device manager) you should be fine just using what Windows automatically installed. Also, you can often download the drivers straight from the manufacturer of the device, for example, for the Intel chipset on your motherboard, you can go to Intel's site and download Windows 8 drivers (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/SearchResult.aspx?ProdId=816&lang=eng). Same goes for other devices such as audio.

All that being said, most Windows 7 drivers will work fine on Windows 8. So...

All that being said, most Windows 7 drivers will work fine on Windows 8. So for example, if there were any additional software utilities that you liked, such as an audio control panel that was bundled with the audio drivers, you could try installing that. The worst that could happen is that the installation utility tells you that your OS is unsupported.

Hello, thank you for your time!

I always used to download Chipset, Audio, LAN and other stuff from motherboard's manufactory, in this case Asus's website. I didn't know that I also can do it on Intel's website, since the mobo's chipset is intel. Nice info!

So basically all I usually do after Windows installation is installing Chipset, LAN, and Audio, in this case, none of this aren't available on Asus's site doesn't show any yellow triangles, so I guess Windows 8.1 made everything work just fine?
