Im trying to do a clean install of windows. The HDD has files on it already and i can browse it fine using a linux bootable usb. When i click custom install no partitions show. Windows does seem to recognise the drive as if i click load drivers i can browse the folders on the HDD. Iv never had this problem before. I would prefer not to format the HDD fully as i have no way to back it up.

Is all of the space on the disk already allocated to partitions? If I remember correctly, Windows has to install on a a new partition, or wipe out the space in an existing partition and create a new one in its place.
