unstable power delivery can commonly cause hardware failure. a quality PSU and stable power from the wall is important for the health of a computer. if your computer is not already on a surge protector, pleas buy a nice one and wire it in. the other major factor is overheating and over voltage. both will degrade the quality of the hardware faster than intended, but if your not over clocking, these two are less likely to be the culprit.

the last point, pure luck...

These recommendations forget to learn what happens inside a computer. That AC voltage is increased to well over 300 volts. Then converted to high frequencey spiikes. Then superior filters and regulators already inside the computer convert high frequency spilkes ('dirtiest' power) into low voltage, rock solid, and well regulated low voltage DC.

Anything that power 'cleaner' might do is first undone inside a computer. Then superior filters and protectors convert that 'dirtiest' power into what semiconductors want and need. That does not change no matter what the magic box might do. Best solution should be in a supply.
