[QUESTION] Upgrading RAM

So currently I have 8gb ram and I want to upgrade to 16gb but I can't find the specs of my ram. For some reason I can't find the same exact one, cause maybe it was an old version.
Here's a picture of it:

The brand name is Team Vulcan. When upgrading a ram, does it have to be the same exact brand? Unfortunately I can't find the same exact model but this is the closest one I've found.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Team-Vulcan-8GB-2-x-4GB-DDR3-1600-PC3-12800-Desktop-Memory-Model-TLBD38G1600-/381043285323?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item58b7f31d4b

And here's the specs according to CPU-Z

For some reason the 2x4gb rams are on slot 2 and 4, does that make any difference?
So what do I need to look for when upgrading ram? same brand? same specs?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

they are on 2 and 4 because they are in dual channel which is what you want also the ram I believe is a pair of team group vulcan ddr3 1600 ram
I believe these on the link are them
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820313355&cm_re=team_group_vulcan-_-20-313-355-_-Product
but I dont know tha cas latency but they are probably 9 so if you want to upgrade the ones on the link should be the ones you want to get
even if they are not the same ram you should be able to use them as long as the specs match like cas latency, speed, timing, and, voltage
and sometimes the specs dont have to match your mobo will just underclock the better set of ram to the specs of the lower set but I wouldnt chance it because its iffy and sometimes it will work and sometimes it wont its pretty much hit or miss if you do go that way

Thanks for your reply! I'm pretty sure I saw on my bios that my RAM's speed is 1333mhz and dual channel. So I'm not sure about the link that you gave me but if the speed doesn't matter then maybe. Also how can I tell whether I have 240-pin or not?

So basically all I need to look for another rams are 1333mhz/240-pin/DDR3/cas latency 9/ Dual Channel?
No matter the brand right?

you said it is 1333 ok any of the ones on this link will work its the same brand just not the same series
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007611%2050011857%20600006126&IsNodeId=1
also yes you are correct just as long as all the specs match like cas latency speed timing and voltage you can use it to pair with the old ram

and this link is for all mixed brands but everything is the same except size. size is the only thing that doesnt have to match just make sure you have your bigger sticks in 2 and 4 and smaller sticks in 1 and 3 or vise versa

Not really sure about the speed but it says 667 and it's dual channel so that's 1333mhz right?
but how about the pin? 240 pin? How can I tell what exactly I need?

how about this one? same voltage, same speed, same cas latency, same voltage. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231422&cm_re=PC3_10600-_-20-231-422-_-Product

or this? http://www.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-FURY-2x4GB-1333MHz/dp/B00J8E912M/ref=sr_1_56?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1423010741&sr=1-56&keywords=8gb+ram+ddr3

I like to have the ram with the heat syncs on them because I have a window on my pc and it makes it look cooler but if you dont care what the inside of your case looks like you can go with the gskill value series its the same thing there is no difference just looks and also you have ddr3 all desktop ddr3s are 240 pin so the pins are something you dont have to worry about and yes 667 is 1333 because of well ddr=(double data rate) so 2 multiplied by 667 is 1334 so really its ddr3 1333

If you have it, look in CPU-Z (free app) at the SPD tab - it should give the model #.... Keep in mind that if you mix DRAM it's a crapshoot, the new stick(s) might play with the old and might not - there's never a guarantee - even if you get an exact matching set

Ohh I thought the design of the hyperX would help on something like temperature but I guess it's just a design. Thanks for the help sir!

Thanks to everyone for giving me some information/advice. I really appreciate it.
